It's been quite a busy but fun weekend. I managed to pull this White Rabbit costume together in one day, just in time for our church's annual Halloween party. This costume is the most challenging one that I've done.

Halloween Sewing
It seems like every year my girls choose a character that is hard to find a costume for or not available at all like this year. They were not able to shop for the materials with me until the week of the Halloween party. Here's the aftermath of 2 days worth of sewing and 2 1/2 hours of sleep total.

Halloween Hooded Cloak
As I was going through my blog and pinning my sewing projects to my Pinterest board so I have everything in one place to reference I remembered I had not shared this sewing project on this blog. I'll get back to the photo in just a bit. When I looked back at some a lot of the pictures that I've taken over time for my blog I have to say that some of it was so bad. I was just pointing and shooting, didn't really play around with my camera to figure out all the settings. I know you can take very good pictures with a point and shoot camera but I was just happy taking pictures. Then one day my camera broke, replaced it, then it got stolen. A kind lady donated her extra one and that worked great until one day I splurged on a really good camera. I knew then that I had to really figure out how to use it and practice, practice, practice. I am still a long way from getting it right, but for now I am happy with my blog photos again.
Ok, back to this sewing project I did over Halloween last year for my daughter. She didn't want a whole new costume, just a cloak to add to her dress. She was wanting to wear her dress I made the previous year with a minor adjustment. We bought leather cording to replace the ribbons.

Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween!!! Halloween at our home is simple and on the clean side. I am not one for the dark stuff, with that said, here are some things I scattered around our home. Harry Potter, treats and a Halloween placemat turned into a mini quilt.

Halloween Costume #2
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We had fun going to our church's annual Halloween party Sat. There were a bunch of fun activities for the younger kids. I finished our daughter's costume but had to make minor adjustments because the ribbon I put in was not holding.

Corset
I hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was a busy one, but our kiddos had fun so it was a good one.
I was busy sewing Halloween costumes. Have you ever made a corset? It's one of those things I would never have thought to make, but over the weekend that's what I did. I made a corset.

Halloween Quilt and Recap
Alrighty this quilt here is one of my Charming Girls Sept./Oct. goal. So much is going on in our household right now that I just don't have the time to finish my other goals. Now I can explain how I got 4 Halloween projects done when I started with just this one quilt. I started out sketching a 5x5 quilt. I ended up not having enough fabric so I narrowed it down to 4x5. Which I did this lap quilt with.
When I was sewing the snowball block I had enough to make half square triangles. I then trimmed it down and pieced all the half square triangles and the black scraps to make this Paganini quilt. I didn't do the border as the pattern says since my goal this year is to use up fabrics I have at home and not buy more.
The remaining four blocks blocks were left over from the lap quilt since I didn't want to go hunting for more green fabrics. I used three for this tablerunner.
Then with the last block I made this small/mini quilt. It fits on the snack cabinet. I did have a bit of backing fabric left so I made a bag for my daughter, but I can't decide what to do with it yet so I don't have a picture of it. I am SEW happy I got to use up alot of Halloween fabrics that was sitting in my cabinet forever.

Halloween Placemats
Well, we thought Gigi was getting better because when she came home from the vet she was up and around. The vet gave her a dose of antibiotics and I guessed it kicked in. She looked almost her normal self. She's been given medication as scheduled. She looks really sick again. She's at the vet this morning. Hope all will goes well so she can get better.
I still have some Halloween stuff to show you. I have been so busy lately I haven't had a moment to work on any quilts besides the Halloween ones. They are done hopefully I'll have time to get the pics ready to show you by this weekend. These placemats I made where super quick to put together. I bought these Halloween fabrics and one of them had these rectangle images to cut out and use in a block. I figured we could always use placemats so I made six of them. The kids have their favorite ones they would like to use.
I have to get some more sewing done today. I feel like time is running out and I can't seem to accomplish all the sewing I need to do by the end of the month.

Halloween Quilt #3
This is quilt #3 for Halloween. I started out with the Schnibbles Paganini pattern but then I didn't have enough black fabric for the border so I added the orange to make up the difference in the border. I was determined to not buy anymore fabrics so I used up the leftover pieces that I had from the snowball block for my other Halloween quilt I am still working on. I trimmed it down to the measurement needed. This little quilt was really quick and easy to put together.
I placed the quilt on my diningroom table and this paper tree was what my son and I made when he was in pre-school.

Halloween Tablerunner
I think I am done making quilty things for Halloween forever. I started out making just one lap quilt, but it ended up turning into four. I finished all four quilt tops in two days. I managed to quilt three of those tops then we went to see our friends to participate in their son's important milestone on Sunday. I brought my quilts to work on so during the trip up and back I finished the binding on two of them. When we got home and the kids went to bed I finished the wallhanging. I was in a hurry to get them done so I can work on a ton of bags before the end of the month. I will share all of the quilts over the next few days. They all use pretty much the same fabrics. I'll tell you all how I ended up with four when I finish the lap quilt and get it posted.

Small Halloween Quilt
My Fall Into Fall giveaway is still going on. The last day to enter is by midnight Oct. 15th. Click here to go to the giveaway post. There's more going into the package than what you see :)
Thanks to everyone for following me! I can't believe I am so close to 200 followers. I'll have to do another giveaway when I hit 200.
On the Halloween quilting front, I am still working on my Halloween quilts. I've got all the quilt tops and backing done. I only need to machine quilt it. This is a quick tabletopper using one of the extra snowball blocks I had leftover from the larger quilt. I just need to put the binding on and it's ready to use. I am also quilting the tablerunner and these two should be done this weekend. I am going to take a break to spend the day doing some fun fall things with my family.
Have a great weekend!

Halloween Quilt WIP
My Fall Into Fall giveaway is still going on. Click here to enter or scroll down to the previous post. There's more going into the package than what you see :)
It is Halloween time. I have been trying to get this Halloween quilt done. I managed to put the top together and the extras I made a runner. See the half square triangles on the bottom right hand corner? Those are leftover from my snowball blocks. That will probably be a tabletopper. I got everything worked out in my EQ program so hopefully I can get these done by the weekend to enjoy a bit before Halloween is over. I am trying to use up all my Halloween fabrics and not buy anymore to complete these projects. Hopefully I will be able to find matching fabrics for the backing in my stash :)

Some Sewing Projects
Happy Monday!
I know Halloween is over, but I needed to finish this simple wallhanging that I started last Halloween. Yup, you heard it right, last Halloween. I was trying to figure out a way to quilt it on my little sewing machine so I put it away and did take it back out. This year the Halloween decorations came out so I figured I had better finish this wallhanging. My machine quilting is a bit rusty since I haven't done any machine quilting in a few years. I just made the tops and hung them up in my closet so yes, I have many UFO's. I finally finished the binding this morning so hubby can put it away with the Halloween stuff today. While I was at it, I also made a zippered pouch with scraps of fabric I have. Now I don't really know what to do with it. I just felt like making a zippered pouch.
Well, I have a ton of things to do today including some stamping which you can check out tomorrow on the Sherrod Studio blog for our Tuesday Throwdown challenge.
Enjoy your day:)
