En Provence Progress

I am still plugging away at the En Provence mystery quilt. I finished all sixteen blocks late last night and started on the sashing pieces. The sashing went together pretty quick. I was able to finish all of them.

Flora Supply Case Sew Along

I was able to spend some time sewing the inside pockets of the Flora Supply Case. These fabrics are all from my stash. I was going to use mesh for a couple of the pockets as the pattern instructed but when I needed it I couldn't find it.

The pattern did not call for interfacing for the inside lining or the zipper pocket, but I went ahead and added the interfacing.

En Provence Progress a Sew Along Plus Free Classes

Happy Friday! I am going to lump a bunch of things into this one post today because there's a lot going on especially with free classes and buy one get one offers. Up first are my progress with the En Provence mystery quilt along. I managed to finish cutting and marking all of my fabrics to make half square triangles and quarter triangles

En Provence Quilt Blocks

I have been trying to squeeze in some sewing time to work on the En Provence mystery quilt. So far I've only been able to work on the third clue. I have also been sewing Christmas items and will share
that after Christmas :)

En Provence Third Clue

It is time for another clue in Quiltville's En Provence mystery quilt. I chose to use shades of blue instead of the purple Bonnie used for her quilt.

En Provence Clue #2

Yesterday I finished the En Provence mystery quilt clue #1. That was such a long process but I kept on going little by little it got done. Last night I started cutting for the second clue.. This is a breeze compared to first clue. I have a bunch of fabrics leftover from a project I did for Art Gallery Fabrics so I am using this pretty print for the background this time around.

En Provence Clue 1 Complete

Last night I sat down to sew the scrap pieces together to complete the 4-patch blocks called for in the En Provence mystery clue #1. I finally took a break and this mini munny figure was sitting out so I drew on him. My daughter gave it to me last year for my birthday just for something fun to do. I drew him how I felt at the time and hubby started laughing when he looked at the face.

En Provence Clue 1

Happy Weekend! Did you all get your Christmas decorations up? We're still working on ours but in the meantime I decided to jump in and join Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilt along. These were the fabrics I shared on IG. I took out the purples and added blues instead.
As I was cutting the neutral fabrics into manageable strips I was starting to feel a tinge of regret because it takes a lot of time to cut scraps. After I finished cutting what I had I started to feel like it wasn't enough.

En Provence Mystery Quilt

I don't usually do mystery quilts but this time Bonnie's colors and the chance to use up scraps got me.

Summer Solstice Quilt Complete

I was able to finish the quilting on my Summer Solstice quilt but getting the photos done took a bit of time. I took advantage of this week's Thanksgiving break and went out to get some photos.

Summer Solstice Quilt

I am sneaking this in right under the wire. Please pardon the poor photo quality. Rushing to take photos is not recommended. It was so big I couldn't find a place to photograph it in time for the linkup over at Melissa's blog so moving furniture in the family room was required.  I will update with better photos when the quilt is quilted and bound. This one is definitely not going into the UFO pile.

Summer Solstice Blocks Five Through Seven

I'm almost half way done with my Summer Solstice quilt blocks. I needed to go and buy some more background fabrics and about one more yard of the prints so I can cut the remaining blocks.

Summer Solstice Quilt Blocks

Happy Labor Day! I've been sewing away making these Summer Solstice quilt blocks. I plan on sewing a total of sixteen blocks to make a large quilt just for me. I think it's about time I make myself one.

Friday Sewing

I've been able to sew almost everyday for the last few days. It makes me sew happy! Where has Summer gone? I can't believe it's already September. I plan on doing lots of sewing and getting UFOs done before the end of the year. If you've been following me on Instagram, you know I've been doing lots of late night sewing. It's just so peaceful and quiet. Just me and the humming sound of my sewing machine.

Drunkards Path

I've been busy working on my Summer Solstice quilt-a-long. I finished most of the drunkards path blocks. It took some time but I got it done. I did some by pinning and some I just went for it, no pins at all.

Summer Solstice Block

I'd like to think that I am pretty good at piecing anything, but the drunkards path block was not my cup of tea. Those curves take forever because of all the pinning I needed to do to keep an accurate seam allowance. As I was sewing the drunkards path blocks together I noticed that one side doesn't fit as well on the small piece. Since the cut pieces are on the bias I didn't want to stretch it too much so I ended up clipping about an 1/8" along the curved side that doesn't fit well. It made it so much easier to sew.

Summer Solstice Quilt Along WIP

The Summer is ending shortly for us with school starting soon. The weather has been so hot. I've been trying to get some sewing done but all my family wants to do was head to the beach so off we go. Have to create those wonderful Summer memories while they're still home.
On to the quilting or lack there off. I have been deciding on how to get my Summer Solstice blocks done.

Summer Solstice Quilt Along

.....because it's Summer and because I think I will pull out old old old fabrics to use up so I might be joining this quilt along that Melissa is hosting. The bigger the quilt the more fabrics I will use up. Here's to hoping I can play along.

Aurifil BOM and New Quilt Along

I've been trying to get caught up on my Aurifil BOM in between other sewing obligations. This is the second block I made for October's block. I reversed the color order from the first one that way when it's time to put all of my blocks together, they would work.

All Wishes Quilt Along Blocks...Completed

Happy Monday!!! I had sew much sewing done over the weekend. I was determined to finish my Wishes Quilt Along blocks from the Fat Quarter Shop. I spent time sewing while our kids were watching tv, playing games or reading. In between sewing I did have to help hubby work out some kinks with my new toy because it needed some minor adjustments. I'll post about that later.
