Pincushion Tutorial and a Giveaway

This is a quick and easy tutorial to use up your scraps. Although it is easy, I like lots of visual aid so this post is picture heavy. I used leftover pieces of a charm pack from Bonnie and Camille called Hello Darling from a mini quilt project but you can use any scraps laying around. I've never had any staining problems using the ground walnut shells. You could always use batting to line the backing if you want to make sure it doesn't stain your fabrics.

Happy Monday!!! It's been so long since I was able to sew or do much. I am happy to say that things are going back to normal this week and hope to finish quilting my flannel chevron quilt I had basted at the beginning of the month. On that note, I have decided to re-open my pattern shop and have gone with Craftsy for that.

Back to School Blog Hop and Giveaway

It's that time of year when all the kiddos head back to school. The house is going to be so quiet. I love sleeping in and hanging out with them late into the night, but that's coming to an end in a few short days.

Hexagons and a Giveaway

This Giveaway is Now Closed.


I have been so fortunate to have won alot of awesome quilting tools and supplies this past year. I would like to give back by having a giveaway to start off the new year. If you are into hexagons or just wanting to start without all the cutting, this ones for you.


I've got a charm pack of Lark by Amy Butler and a charm pack of London by Dena Designs that I've cut up into these lovely hexagons. There are a total of 30 hexagons measuring 5"W x 4 3/8" H with 2 1/2" sides.
