Headbands

Over the holiday I made some headbands and it was a hit and they were so much fun to make. I am starting to accumulate alot of things so to support my crafty habit, I opened my Etsy shop for my handmade goodies. I was going to use my dot com site but it was getting too much for me to work on it so Etsy was the best way to go for now. I'll be listing some more items in my shop next week. I just need to go outside and take some good pictures.

Hair Clips

These were some hair clips that we donated for Christmas to allow the parents to use them as stocking stuffers.  I was so busy before the holidays and didn't have time to make them so I asked hubby to make some hair clips for me. I showed him how to make one and he went to town with the rest. He did such a good job with them. Maybe he can do it again next year :-)

These hubby used my fabric scraps and the Big Shot to cut out.

It sure was nice to have a crafting buddy for a short time.

More Headbands

I pulled out some fat quarters that I've had for a long time and made some more headbands. I am not keeping these. They are going to a good cause and used as stocking stuffers. I made them reversible so the girls can choose whichever side she would like to show. These headbands are SUPER quick and easy to make, they are quite addicting.

This is the other side of the headband. I made a wallet with these fabrics for one of our kids and had enough leftover to make 5 headbands. 

Fabric Headbands

I have lots of fabric scraps and so I sat down to make this headband. I only made one so I can see if I need to change anything before I make more. The headband and flower was really quick to make and the flower took one 2 1/2" strip of fabric. I created some pleats before I made the flower. It's permanently attached to the headband. I am going to make some more flowers and turn them into hair clips so I can use up the hair clips I bought a few months ago.

FNSI Finish

I would have uploaded this finish sooner, but my little guy hogged my computer playing his game. Last night as I was getting ready to sew the projects I had planned, we had unexpected company that stayed till after midnight so there goes all my sewing plans.

I did get my ruffled scarf done. This is so quick and easy to do. I think I am in love with knits. I'll have to go to CraftyVegasMom's blog later to see what the ladies finished.

More Hats

It's been a while since I've shared anything sewing related. I haven't been able to get much sewing done. These were a couple of hats I made a few weeks back but haven't gotten around to sharing. These are quick and easy to make. One is going to my niece and the other one I will probably keep for me.

I have to get a couple things sewn so will share those when they're done.

Hair Clips

Still working on stuff. I have 5 jewelry items to get finished and a ton of shirts a friend asked me to put pockets on, but I have something to share with you today. I have a bunch of these flowers leftover from a project so I made more hair clips. I bought a box of duck clips to make hair clips so I can use up some of my craft supplies. My girls don't want to have anything to do with hair clips but it was fun to make. That's all I have for today. Hop on over to Sew Much Ado to check out some wonderful projects posted for today.

Ribbon Flower

I have been making hair clips to include in dd's fundraiser. This one is made from ribbons I had on hand. I haven't attached the clip to the back yet. I will do that later since it's easier to make a bunch at a time. I will have some hair clips going into the shop later today. That's all for today. Have a great day!

Scarf and Earwarmer

Is it earwarmer or earwarmers? My friend asked me to make the scarf and earwarmer for her so she can use it when she rides her bike. I got it done last week. Yesterday I helped our daughter teach the young women in our church how to crochet and brought this with me to show them what they can created with some simple stitches. Okay, the flower does not belong on her earwarmer or scarf. I made it and put it on so I can take this picture. It is removable. It was an experiment I did with yarn to see how the flower would turn out. I think I like it. It's different than what I've seen.
About teaching the young women, it was alot of fun. I do enjoy teaching them crafty stuff. The poor girls, they were having a hard time at first and it doesn't help to have a lefthanded teacher either, but then they finally got it. I was trying to show them a double crochet stitch because I figured it will build height faster but that was not a good idea so I had them do a single crochet stitch instead. That went well I thought. I am off to do some sewing for our daughter's fundraiser. I need to add more variety because right now it's mostly greeting cards. I finally got alot of it listed on Art Fire yesterday. If I don't blog for a couple of days, it's because I am busy working on fundraising stuff and will post when I get a chance. I have never ever done a fundrasier like this. I've only helped out with food fundraisers so it's kind of different. Food....hmmmm, that's a thought. I think I am going to brainstorm with my bestfriend since she's the food fundraising queen. She always manages to get everything donated by businesses for any type of fundraising. Ok, gotta go, have a SUPER day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We don't really do anything for St. Patrick's Day in our household but I do have our kids wear something green because kids these days don't just give you a little pinch, they actually pinch hard and our 14 yr. old says at her high school they punch your shoulder, OUCH! Talk about rough so I have them put something on that's green. I recycled an old headband for our 12 yr. old by covering it with new fabric. Our friend and his girls have been staying with us and didn't have anything green so she asked for the top headband. On the second headband, I took one of our old ones and recovered it with  3/8" green polka dotted ribbon. I just put a dab of hot glue at the ends to hold it in place. Makes it look like new again.
