 Over the weekend I had the opportunity to watch Angela Walter's Dot to Dot Quilting class on Craftsy. I was wanting to get a better idea of how to quilt certain shapes and overcome my fear of rulers. I tried rulers and let's just say, I need more practice.

Machine Quilting Craftsy Class Review

I have been wanting to take a machine quilting class for quite sometime and while Craftsy gave me a chance to review any class of my choosing, I chose Angela Walter's Machine Quilting Negative Space. The class is broken down into 10 segments. These segments cover various designs, combining designs, tips and galleries for your inspiration. The class also includes a free pattern and printable worksheets to practice with. 

Log Cabin Book Review and Free Download

I was asked to review the new Fons and Porter E-book called Build Your Best Log Cabin Quilt. I've always loved Fons & Porter's magazine so I was more than happy to review their new e-book. 

This book contains 24 pages of information and patterns filled with beautiful illustrations. There's a log cabin history, instructions on how to build your blocks, machine quilting ideas and trapunto quilting. 
There are three different log cabin blocks. Traditional, courthouse step and chevron style.

Each style has a sample and a chart for making various block sizes from 4 1/2" to 13 1/2". There's even tips along the way to make piecing your blocks a breeze.
This log cabin book is very well done. The quilts are beautiful, instructions are easy to understand and I love the many options available to create my own quilt.
This e-book is available as a free download. You'll be making these beautiful quilts in no time. I already want to make the woven courthouse step quilt. Love the use of the solid colors against the black background.
