I have been saving all of the scrappy triangle patterns from Sewn by Leila so I can work on them in between work obligated sewing and school. I have been trying my best to use my scraps just to hopefully whittle them down and hopefully use them up, but as always they keep on growing. These scrappy triangles have smaller pieces which is great for scraps.
Now that I have all twenty patterns, I can start sewing away. My daughter sorted my scraps by color a while ago so it was easy for me to pull out a bag, press and start cutting according to the instructions. The background print is from Art Gallery Fabrics. I am going to use them up before I start on a different background print.
BLOCK 1
Some of these scraps are over twelve years old. I remembered the floral print above was in 2002 when I drafted up my first pattern. I still have that quilt today and the pattern which I pulled from my shop a few years after I published it. I believe the green prints below were used for some bags.
BLOCK 2
The orange and yellow prints are from Moda, Riley Blakes chevron and Joel Dewberry's Heirloom collection for Free Spirit fabrics. This is my all time favorite collection from them and it's sad to see that Free Spirit fabrics will no longer be available. The fabrics from this collection was what I used to make bags and small accessories with. Just love the prints!
BLOCK 3
More orange and yellow scraps. I have ALOT of yellow scraps. I am going to knock of the first twenty blocks then I will start making duplicates to turn them into a really big quilt. Sewn by Leila has the total number of blocks you need to make for various quilt sizes.

Very cute blocks, Kim. I like the colors. I am just beginning to paper piece and have a lot to learn but I love how accurate the blocks are when finished.
I have been trying to not do this one, but I now realize 'resistance in futile'. LOL Your blocks look great!!
Yes your blocks look great. I really like the log cabin style one.
So fun and bright! Isn't it great to remember all the various projects that created those scraps? :)
Your blocks are beautiful and a great way to use your scraps. My scrap pile continually grows...I'm not sure why! LOL
