Hello! Today I am participating in the Fat Quarter Shop's Double Nine Patch quilt along. This is a fairly simple pattern and quick to put together. I was working on this before the holidays but hit a snag. I ran out of the grey solid print and couldn't find any locally. Thank goodness the FQS also had a delay with their fabric shipments for their kits so I was able to order some more of the grey solid from them to get my quilt top done.
For the border, I only cut nine strips instead of eleven that was called for in the pattern. I cut one strip in half and sewed it together with two of the borders strips to add to each side of the longer border. I love the pop of yellows and turquoise against the grey solid background, but it was tough to photograph. The print fabrics are from various collections that Art Gallery Fabrics put out. The grey solid is Robert Kaufman's Kona Cotton in Shadow.
Here's another close-up of the quilt. The kit and pattern can be purchased at the Fat Quarter Shop. Be sure to check out the FQS' blog for more quilts on this blog hop.
