These blocks have been sitting in my drawer for three years. I didn't realize how long until I looked back on my posts. I made extra blocks as I went along during the quit along because I wanted a good size quilt. I taped the blocks to my wall to make it easier for me to sew them into rows. Btw, this is not my design wall, I don't have one. This wall just stays empty so I finally put it to good use ;D
As I was putting the quilt together I didn't notice that something wasn't quite as I had laid them out until I took the photo. It's ok, I can live with it. I love the fact that I was able to use up a lot of my purple fabrics and the quilt is nice and scrappy. The purple border is one of Benartex's Fossil Fern fabrics when it was first released so many years ago.
I haven't sewn sashing strips in a long time so I had to remember how I used to do it to keep the vertical strips lined up since I had to connect them to the horizontal strips. It takes just a couple of minutes more to make sure they line up but well worth it. I am off to sew away to complete one more goal for this month. I'll share as soon as I am done.

Wow! That is a beautiful quilt, Kim. Your perseverance paid off.
I'm not a purple person, but I find this just so stunning!! Good for you in pulling that UFO and getting it done. It is just lovely.
Lovely purples. The first quilt I made in 1982 was purple and believe me we didn't have the wonderful variety of fabrics then! You did a great job with the blocks and the sashing. And, it's almost totally finished. Keep going on it!
Your top turned out great!
Lovely purple quilt, and the smaller amount of pink only enhances it Congrats on your goal.
So beautiful! Thanks for linking up with Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal and congrats on your finish!
Congrats on meeting your goal. It turned out gorgeous. I love purple!
What a pretty purple quilt! One color I have very little of! I'm sure it must feel good to finally have this one put together...well worth it!
Your top is beautiful and the placement of the blocks is perfect.

Pretty quilt, you did a great job!
Great work Kim! Must be satisfying to have a good finish after these years of your beautiful blocks tucked away in a drawer!
Pretty Purple quilt!
Hooray for a finished UFO!!! Lovely job!
It's so pretty! I love all the purples.
It's so pretty. I do love purples and lavenders. I really need to make myself a quilt in that colorway. :)
