Ferris Wheel Quilt

I've had such a fun time staying up late and sewing the night away this past week with Spring Break and all. Today that has come to an end. School returns today. This month I am joining Michele and Sherri in their monthly Minis and More parade. The pattern we were to use was Ferris Wheel by Fig Tree and Co.

I made the large quilt instead of a mini. I have tip for you if to make it easier to center the block units.  Before I sewed the triangle (G) to the quarter block, I fold the triangle and the quarter unit in half and gave it a slight crease to mark the center. I placed a black line so you can see where the crease should be. Don't worry it's not on my quilt ;D. I then matched those lines and start sewing away. It only takes a few minutes extra but makes it much easier and faster to sew.

I did not follow the pattern with the different background colors that it calls for. My intention was to try and use up what I have in my stash so I dug out my white solid fabric to use in place of the two solid colors the pattern calls for. The fabrics are from Dena Designs London collection by Free Spirit Fabrics that I've had in my stash for a while.
I have made a short video of how I line up the rows of quilt blocks with the sashing so that each row's seams are straight. I'll get the video up shortly.
