Esme Top Finish

I am loving making this Esme Top from Sew Liberated. I do have to make minor adjustments to it but it's such a fun pattern and well worth it to make. My daughter chose this fun print from Cloud 9 Fabrics that was already in my stash.

The only adjustment I did on this top was to raise the neckline. I personally think the neckline is way too low and wide at the shoulders so a little adjustment makes it fit quite nicely. The length is  just right for pairing with leggings.

I love the bit of gathering right under the bib. It adds a fun little detail to the front. Those buttons took me a bit more time than usual to sew on since I wanted to create a thread shank under the button to allow some movement.

When I made the cuffs for the sleeve, I went ahead and pressed the cuff wrong sides together.  It creates a nice crease for me to refold after I stitch the sides together. I also finished the edges of the seam allowance with my serger as I went along and trimmed it down to about 3/8" to reduce the bulk on the seam allowance. All together, this pattern is nice to make.

Your blouse is beautiful. And the changes you've made to the neckline makes it perfect. The whole blouse is beautifully done.

I love the fabric and the pattern. I find that many patterns need that same adjustments for me too. Great job.
