Santa's Trip Around the World Progress

Happy Friday! Thank goodness the weekend is here. I've been taking whatever time I can in between class assignments to work on my Santa's Trip Around the World quilt. I am determined to use up as much of these Christmas fabrics as  I can.

I still had 2 1/2" strips left over from the quilt top so I've been randomly piecing the backing with them. I am literally using up every inch I can of the small pieces before I start using the larger fabric yardage. I trim as I go long to check on the width and length so that I won't cut more than I need to. The backing pieces are so random that it's going to be quite different than what I am used to doing but I really need to use up fabric in my stash. these fabrics have been hanging around too long. I will get the quilt quilted and reveal it as soon as the binding is done. No more adding to the UFO pile.

I apologize for the delay in drawing the winner for the Earhoox giveaway. The winner chosen by random.org is: #5 Missy Shay said...
