I have been trying to catch up on my Postcards From Sweden QAL since I had to throw away all the fabrics that I had already cut before. Anywho, I am all caught up. I squeezed in a bit of time here and there to sew the half square triangles together. This is going to be my scrappy half square triangles solids quilt. I am not following the pattern instructions so the blocks are just going to be randomly placed.
I am making close to a king size quilt. These blocks will finish at 5". I sewed, pressed and trimmed a total of 324 blocks. I wasn't going to trim but it was bothering me thinking that the blocks might be off a bit so I took the time to trim. It took forever but I am so glad I did it. In the process I realized that some of them were a bit smaller than I needed them to be like the pink and purple block below. I ripped it out and stitched again and I'll press it later when I start putting the quilt together. Believe it or not but this pile contains 324 blocks. I can't wait to put this quilt together.

Hi Kim! I am following along with this link-up, too, but this is the first week I've made it in time. I agree in the amount of time it took to trip those little pretties! I thought I'd never get done, and I have only 144! I had a few smaller ones, too, but a rip-out and re-stitch worked perfectly! I'm looking forward to stitching them together.
So glad to have you quilting along with us! Your pile of blocks looks great, and I can't wait to see the random layout.
The half=square triangle blocks are so perfect! I love the bright and happy colors too.
