En Provence Quilt Top February OMG Goal

I really slipped this completed goal right under the wire. My OMG (one monthly goal) was to put the En Provence quilt top together. There were so many little pieces to sew for the blocks and I didn't want to mess it up and have to rip the stitches out, but it happened anyways..LOL.

It wasn't so bad. There was only a couple of blocks that I oriented the star points in the wrong direction which I caught when I taped the blocks to my wall. I don't have a design wall but this quilt was so scrappy that I ended up using my empty hallway to layout the designs. I carefully taped all of the blocks and sashing units onto the wall then I labeled each row with tape. I then pinned each row together and started sewing row by row.

I was so worried it wouldn't come out right but I was determined to get this quilt top done. In between school and obligated sewing I was able to get the top done right on the last day of February. I had my girls help me hold the quilt up for this photo because it required an extra set of hands to hold it. It fits my bed nicely but I'll have to see if hubby would like it bigger before I quilt it. If it needs to be bigger then I am thinking of adding about six inches to the border using a yellow print since I don't have a lot of it in the quilt. What do you think about the yellow for the border?

Not sure about a solid yellow border. How about yellow /neutral 4-patches? Your quilt is a real heart-lifter!

Beautiful! I think the yellow border would make a nice contrast. Congratulations on your finish.

Love the colors in this one! If it were mine, I think I'd go with the magenta from the stars for the border.

I think Annette's idea of neutral and yellow four patches is a really good one. Great quilt!
