Monday....time to get some projects done. I counted out how many blocks I made for my purple quilt and I think 30 is more than enough. I started pulling out purple fabrics from my stash to decide on the borders, binding and it will be a scrappy backing. I am determined to use up these fabrics from my stash.
I was trying to decide on the last block to make and started going through my old quilting books. Quilt In A Day came out with a book called Pioneer Sampler a long long time ago and it has nice traditional blocks in there that I could use. At this point, I just needed simple so I can finish my projects.
This block is called the Kentucky Chain. It consists of quarter square triangles and rectangle strips and really quick to put together. The only thing I had a problem with is squaring up each quarter block. The way the book tells you to square it up didn't compute in my mind so I just figured it out on my own.
Now that I've sketched the quilt layout and measurements, I can start cutting up fabrics to finish this quilt.

I really like that block, I've not seen it before!
Interesting block and I love your fabrics. Purple is one of my favorite colors.
Such a fun pattern and beautiful fabrics Kim!
Hello
Want to drop a note to thank you for your sweet comments. They mean a lot to me that you have taken the time to stop by. I have not been on the computer much. As I am caregiving for a dear friend who had Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Every day her fragile body is deteriorating. I have not ever seen someone dying right in front of me. All I can do is just keep her comfortable, encourage her and trust the Lord to be her comfort and joy. So please do not be dismayed, when I am unable to stop by your blogs and leave some love.
Your project/card is amazing and look forward to stopping by when I can. Have a wonderful day and even better week.
In His Joy
Berni
