I came across this Sew-Vivor competition a few days ago, I can't remember from where and have been thinking about it. I have finally decided to join in and see what happens. I love to challenge myself so this will help to push me out of my comfort zone and do something different.
This year the competition is quilt related and now that I have my longarm machine, it's going to be so fun to be able to finish my projects in a timely manner. No more UFOs for me. The entry says I can use any previous project so I am going to enter my Row By Row quilt that I just completed last week.
This photo was taken in my backyard after my other attempts. This was one of those projects that had to be done quickly in order to win a prize at one of the participating quilt shops.
When I figured that I had to free-motion quilt this Row By Row quilt, I took a deep breath and just went with whatever came to mind. I had to undo some quilting a couple of times but I was so happy when it was finished. I love how it turned out. Here's a close-up of the free-motion quilting on my HQ.
Fabrics used are Moda Fabrics Sweetwater's Hometown, Mama Said Sew and Noteworthy, and Sandy Gervais' Lovely. Robert Kaufman's Kona Cotton. Piecing was done using Aurifil thread in white.
