All Wishes Quilt Along Blocks...Completed

Happy Monday!!! I had sew much sewing done over the weekend. I was determined to finish my Wishes Quilt Along blocks from the Fat Quarter Shop. I spent time sewing while our kids were watching tv, playing games or reading. In between sewing I did have to help hubby work out some kinks with my new toy because it needed some minor adjustments. I'll post about that later.

So here is block 8 called Mrs. Taft's Choice. Lots of half square triangles and me marking everything to make sure my seams would match up just right.

This is block #9 called Dove in the Window. This is the first time that I've sewn this block. When I completed the block, I thought I should have put a pink square in the center. Oh well, it will stay as is. I still like it.

This is block #10 called Idaho Beauty. I love star blocks and how on this block the stars interlock with each other.

This is block #11 called Stair Step. After I completed the block I noticed that the center diagonal layout resembled hearts. Love the cuteness of that.

Last block, #12 is called Grape Basket. I tend to not do basket blocks because I don't like some of the instructions that goes along with it but this was so easy. I LOVE it!

What comes with sewing half square triangles? Leftover fabric scraps in various sizes. I couldn't bear to throw them away so I made half square triangles. Some are as small as 1 1/4" square and larger ones 2 1/2" square. I will have to think of what to make with them before they get lost in my never ending to do list.

Phew! That was a lot of half square triangles to sew. Sure glad the blocks are all done. Now I am going to start piecing the top and backing together so the quilting can be done.

I would like to thank the following companies:
Fat Quarter Shop for doing this quilt along. It's for an excellent cause. If you have been on the fence about it, don't be. Go get the patterns and start sewing!
Fabri-quilt for the fabrics that I won to make this quilt with. The fabric collection is called Marblehead by Ro Gregg.

I went and bought some more fabrics, about 4 or 5 different colors from the Stonehenge collection by Northcott Fabrics and white kona cotton solid by Robert Kaufman. I pieced the blocks using Aurifil Mako Cotton in white.

Oh my Kim! You made me tired and I am so impressed that you also took care of the 'extra' half square triangles afterward. I'm not sure if I told you this before but I love you fabric choices for this quilt!
