Great Granny Along Block

I had some time to sit down and sew my Great Granny block. I couldn't decide on which fabrics I would like to use so I made two blocks. Wouldn't you know it, I like both of them.

On this block I used Moda's Rooftop Garden jellyroll strips. I love the bold and bright colors in this block.

On my second block I used fabrics from Michael Miller's It's a Girl Thing collection. This is going to be perfect for a little girl.

I can't wait to make some more. The pink Great Granny blocks are all going to be the same I think. The Rooftop Garden one is definitely going to be different since I will be using a jellyroll for the blocks.
At first I was kind of lost when it came to squaring up my block since I haven't used my square up ruler for years. Once I figured it out, it was a breeze. So glad I can finally put the ruler to good use.
