Spring Blossoms

Happy Monday!
Over the weekend I had to go and get work done on my computer because it was shutting down my programs. While I was at the mall I took the opportunity to take pictures of these beautiful blossoms from the trees along the walkway. Spring is only a few weeks away but these trees are already blossoming. Spring always come early for us since the weather is pretty nice year round.

Did you catch any good movies over the weekend? We went to see Red Tails. We really enjoyed it. Hubby actually met one of them at the Navy Exchange when he was there Friday. This gentleman showed hubby proof that he was one of the original Red Tails.

Sew Crafty Linky Party

While I was taking a blogging break I didn't do much sewing but towards the end I felt I needed to create something, just anything to keep my mind off things. I told hubby I need some creative therapy time so I sat down and made this little zip pouch for my little one to keep his change in.

During times when I am in the car or watching tv late at night, I would do some really simple knitting. I am trying to use up some yarn that I have laying around. This little neck wrap is made using one ball of Lion Brand Fun Fur and one ball of Red Heart soft yarn. I am going to buy a pretty pin to use it as a closure when I wear it. I had some extra yarn leftover so I made a small baby beanie with a flower to go with it and gave it away before I  took a picture of it.

Would you like to join me each week for some creative therapy? Link up and show us what you've created. I will create a post on Thursday each week for you to link up. This week I am a day late but that's ok. It'll be fun to see what you've all created. Please grab my button and place on your sidebar or in your post when you link up.

On a another note. I still have pre-cuts and fat quarter bundles on my shop page at 40% off until they're all gone.

Clearance Sale

I have decided not to carry pre-cuts in my shop at this time. All pre-cuts are marked down 40% while supplies last. I have Moda, Amy Butler and Dena Designs listed along with Michael Miller Yardage. I have created a page on this blog to clear out my inventory.

Thanks!

It's been rough lately and I would like to thank you all for your kind words, prayers and encouragement. It's time for me to pick myself up and keep going. Along that line, here's a picture I took over Christmas and included these words to help me each day. You are more than welcome to print or save these for your personal use.

These are when we went to see family, just throwing in for inspiration.

Stay tuned tomorrow. I have some great deals you won't want to miss!

Comment Replies

I just want to take the time to thank those of you who have left comments on my posts. At this time, I apologize that I can't respond to any comments. It seems that when I think all is going well and I am back to having time to do things and get back to normal something else happens. I just need a break.

Keeping My Fingers Crossed

What's in the box you wonder? I am hoping the contents will get accepted. I can't really say but keeping my fingers crossed. It's not a book proposal even though at times I am tempted to submit, but then I am too chicken to go through with it.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Strippy Charm Pouch

I participated in Kris' pouch swap and made this zippered pouch using my pattern over at the Moda Bake Shop called Strippy Charm Pouch to send to my swap partner. I couldn't post until she received it. I had fun making the pouch. Can't wait to see all the participants' pouches.
BTW...I made a slight change by adding the swivel hook so it can be removed and I also added a thick jump ring to the zipper pull so it will lay down nicely when the clasp is attached. I didn't take a picture of the change.

New Pouch

I sat down to make a few zip pouches and was going along just fine until I finished. You see my label at the bottom left corner? I put them in wrong so I had to cut them all off the pouches. Once again this is the back side of the pouch. I love the pink and grey damask fabric. The fabric is from Michael Miller's line called It's a Girl Thing.

My pictures always look lopsided when I take them on top of the fireplace. I am starting to think that the fireplace itself is off. I'll have to ask hubby to measure it just to make sure.
