Blogging is Not Fun at the Moment :(
I don't know how to start this. I guess first off, I really enjoyed visiting other bloggers to see their work and it helps with inspiration. I love sharing what I create too and this is what makes blogging fun, being able to share and be inspired. I was checking out a a famous site, I shall not name names, and came across a pattern that was very very close to a bag I made for myself 3 years ago. I still have that bag today and wear it often. I did post my bag on my blog. Here's the blogging is not fun part. I know that as we find things that others have created we, alot of times are inspired to recreate that same thing which is fine, but to go and copy what we see and just make the handles shorter/smaller and piecing patterns a bit shorter/longer and calling it your own then go and publish it is not nice. I am feeling unsettled at the moment because even copyright laws don't prevent others from infringing upon other's work. Sometimes I share things before I even decide whether to write up the pattern and sell it or not and I suppose this is my fault for making it public. So with that said, I apologize to you my readers for having to pull a bunch of photos and some info off some of my posts. Whether some of my other designs have been copied by said person/company or not, I know it's a little too late but I feel better knowing that it's not floating around my blog for them to see.

I would rather take a slap in the face. I have had it happen at craft shows years ago and what do you do. Your choice to remove some of the pictures is a good step.I feel for you. Chris
That's horrible that someone copied your pattern. I wish people would have more respect for others and their patterns. Is she/he selling the pattern? Maybe you have some recourse there.
Oh I am so sorry to read this Kim! I wish you had some recourse too. ((hugs))
I was listening to Martha Stewart on the radio and a caller asked, "how can I publish a recipe that is really from someone else, but call it my own?". Martha's answer greatly surprised me. She suggested making the recipe a bit smaller or larger, call it a different name, and add one or more small ingredients. She used a cookie recipe as an example and stated that there weren't really any NEW recipes, but those that are slightly altered. The caller didn't say, "it's one of yours", but I wondered (at the time) if Martha would have answered if the recipe had been straight from one of her publications.
I am sorry that your intellectual and artistic talent has been infringed upon!

There seems to be so much of that out there. Whether it's using a copier to reproduce others' pattern or recreate something from a picture it isn't something originally yours so it is unethical and illegal. Have had it done to me, also. As a creative person, our heart is put into what we create/make so such actions involving those items cut right to the heart of each of us. I feel so bad for you and pray that your spirit can rise above this situation and soar once again! Hugs, Doreen
